Review Outcomes

Evidence in. Practical recommendations out.

Evidence & Themes

Findings will draw on more than one source of evidence.

Stakeholder submissions and interviews are expected to be considered alongside governing documents, BCCC publications, operational information and relevant regulatory guidance.

The reviewer will identify recurring themes, test them against the evidence and seek clarification where necessary.

Interim Report

Interim insights can provide an opportunity for further comment.

An interim publication may describe the evidence gathered, emerging themes and options being considered.

Stakeholders may then be invited to test those themes, provide additional evidence and comment before final conclusions are reached.

Final Report

The final report will explain the findings and recommendations.

The expected publication will set out the review methodology, evidence considered, conclusions and prioritised recommendations.

Accessible formats and supporting documents should be made available with the final report.

Governance and accountability
Engagement and information sharing
Monitoring and public reporting
Capabilities, systems and resources

BCCC Response

A public response can turn recommendations into accountable next steps.

The BCCC is expected to consider each recommendation, explain its position and identify which actions sit within its remit.

Recommendations requiring changes to the Banking Code or BCCC Charter may require action by the Australian Banking Association or coordination with other stakeholders.

Accountability

Progress should be visible after publication.

An implementation roadmap can identify owners, target dates, status and evidence of completion for accepted recommendations.

Updates may be published through a dashboard, news announcements and the BCCC Annual Report.
